Heather Turner
Heather Turner is an Art Director and Designer with over a decade worth of experience in the entertainment industry. A New Orleans native, Heather made her way to the West Coast in the summer of 2002 on the hunt for an outlet for her creative powers. She attended Brooks College, and after graduating with honors in Fashion Merchandising, she took her first steps into the world of Rock and Roll. It was in Los Angeles, ca where Heather began overseeing and developing merchandise for artists such as Paul McCartney, NIN, P!nk, Tina Turner, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cher, and Lenny Kravitz, among many others. Her positive attitude, innovative approach to product development and keen eye for detail allowed Heather to breathe new life into branding artists by producing, managing and growing their market presence worldwide. It was in this realm she finally merged her love for art, fashion, and entertainment; yet she felt something was still missing.
In 2003, Heather discovered the fuel which ignited her personal fire by dancing with a collective of women, who inspired her to step away from the desk and onto the stage. As a performer, Heather reveled in dance and became alive for the first time. Blessed once again with an opportunity to weave her passion for art, fashion, and entertainment, Heather turned her 7-year hobby of fire dancing into her professional career. In 2010, she left the world of music merchandising by venturing into the world of Cirque Entertainment. Her experience and determination quickly moved her to become one of the top professional fire dancers, working with one of the most prestigious cirque entertainment companies in the nation. Heather joined their creative team, helping to brand their look by producing original costumes; positioning them at the top of the event entertainment industry. Finding a way to combine her experience in fashion merchandising, with her ability to create branded looks, and her drive for performance, she seamlessly moved into becoming art director for live events and film entertainment.
You can see Heather's work in music videos, independent films, and in the latest craze of Virtual Reality. Not only is Heather a mother, costumer, art director, and certified badass that plays with fire, but she is also a trained Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Creatrix behind the eco-conscious brand aumni Apparel.
